Restored €985.000,00 - Country Properties

Casalvolo is an imposing, stone built farmhouse, with guest house, barn to restore and panoramic pool, situated in a peaceful location near the medieval village of Montone in Umbria, the “Green Heart of Italy”.

Casalvolo has been refurbished with great taste and eye for detail, preserving the original features of the house (barrel vaulted ceilings,  exposed stone walls and an impressive stone fireplace) which, combined with modern amenities, creates an extremely comfortable home.

The approx. 1.2 ha of land around the property ensure wonderful privacy. Surrounding the house and accessible through French windows from the kitchen and sitting room, is a large terrace and lawn with magnificent uninterrupted views of the valley. Nearby there is a covered pergola for dining al fresco, and a path leading down to the swimming pool. Behind and in front of the house are mature olive groves. At the rear of the guest house is a footpath which descends through an oak forest to a stream below.

Montone, awarded one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is approximately 5 km from the house and offers a very good selection of highly recommended restaurants. It also has two delightful bars situated on the piazza together with several local shops (two grocers, a bakery and a delicatessen offering a range of good local produce). There is also a bank with cashpoint, post office, chemist, doctor and dentist. Umbertide is the nearest large town which has several supermarkets, a weekly market, as well as its own restaurants and bars.

Casalvolo is ideally situated, privately but with an asphalt road leading up to the property. Umbria and neighbouring regions provide many sightseeing opportunities to suit all tastes and interests. The geographic location of Montone in central Italy means that you are never very far away from a large number of places of interest. Whether you enjoy architecture, history, ruins, art or scenery, this part of Italy will not disappoint.
