Restored €179.000,00 - Historical Centre

Casa del Fornaio – This charming, south-facing house, dating back to the 1700´and probably the oldest of the whole hamlet, used to be the old bread oven where the whole village came to bake its bread. Even today you can still see the (fully functional) beautiful oven prominent in the ground floor reception room and kitchen.

The approx. 111 m² stone house has been carefully restored with eye for detail and preserving the original materials such as the impressive chestnut beams or the wonderful stone staircase leading to the first floor.

Casa del Fornaio is built on 3 floors and from each floor you have amazing, unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside, famous for its chestnut forests producing the best chestnuts (D.O.P.) of the whole of Umbria.

Completing the property, at about 30 meters distance, is a fully fenced, approx. 105 m² garden with a wisteria covered pergola and a garden shed.

The whole hamlet has been completely restored (paving, fountain, illumination, etc.) respecting the characteristics of old medieval Umbrian “Borgos”. The fact that the village is at 770 meters above sea level, makes it a heavenly place also during the warmest summer days.

The hamlet is situated at only 7 km from the renown town of Spoleto where you can find all services. Spoleto has a major train station, allowing you easy access by train to the centre of Rome as well as the Marche beaches.

Accommodation

On the ground floor you find a cosy reception room and a comfortable eat-in kitchen with access to a terrace large enough to put a small table and two chairs.

A staircase leads to the first floor with two bedrooms and a bathroom with tub/shower

On the second floor there is a large study/bedroom with the most long views, and with useful storage area under the roof.
